What a day! Pictures and results will follow soon. I was hoping to use up the roll, but the weather was too blah on Sunday. It snowed lightly on the morning of the show, Saturday, April 27. I had considered postponing the show because of the lousy weather, but the day turned out to be better than expected! 8 entrants showed up, 7 if you do not count my mother, who was proxying for Ivy. We trooped downtown to the Best Western Suites Centre with all the show stuff on a luggage carrier (everything fit into two boxes, woo!). We were in the basement, which made for a very interesting show. The door could not be closed, otherwise it would have been too suffocating. On the other hand, the maids enjoyed cackling and yakking in the hallway. I think one of the funniest moments was when the guy came to deliver the afternoon snack...looked around...and couldn't quite figure what was going on :-) The show was a lot of fun. It was so cool to see everyone's minis and resins. I really enjoyed judging halter. Alex, Heather, and Twyla helped judge as well. Twyla and Alex were invaluable as performance judges and gave lots of good pointers and tips. The tiny tack was even more beautiful and well done, although I was disappointed that there weren't any harness entries }:-) It was endearing to see so many SMs on the table, especially for the callbacks :-) We often had three rings going at once, and a few of the classes were empty. As such, I think we were the first live show in history to finish on time, around 3pm. That left time for the games. Everyone seemed to get everything they wanted that day. Terri won the beanie baby, Twyla won the silver BF Arabian keychain, and Heather won the box of zebra stuff. Heather generously donated a really cool horse book that had a little bit of everything in it, and Mary and Denette donated three unicorns (one of which Denette later won). For someone who was not even there, Ivy did quite well :-) She won the first round of bingo and one of the SM horse racing heats. Mary Ann and Terri tied for the last round of bingo. Everyone seemed to enjoy the pick your own door prize too. 2 girls who were going to come didn't make it, the small turnout was a little disappointing, but then it was a very small show by all means. The room was 750 sq ft and could have accomodated 15 showers at least. Rosettes were partly donated by Mary Ann Jantz, and sashes for 1-3rd place were glue gunned by moi :-) Pictures | DIV A Results | DIV B Results | DIV C Results GRAND CHAMPION: Chinook's Elusive Quality (TW) RESERVE: Baylady (HGH) |
